Lake Taupo

We are trout fishing enthusiasts and have always wanted to fish the Tongariro River at Lake Taupo, we stayed at the Tongariro lodge which is located right on the river side and with the river just metres from the lodge we were out fishing for most days that we stayed there, we had a great time on the river and hope to return at a later time.

The Tongariro River is a favorite of ours as well there is something about stalking the trout from the bank then casting a fly to them to see them take the bait, and the Togariro has so many great pools to fish from that are easily accessible, it is truly a world class trout fishery.
